Aircraft: three numbers decide the route
An aircraft card lists seats, range and speed, plus the route it is currently flying. The ATR 42-600 reviewed here carries 48 seats over 1,300 km at 500 km/h — enough for an 854 km hub sector, not enough for a long-haul line.
See the fleet panel and its route assignment
The recording shows an ATR 42-600 card with its tail number, class, current route, seats, range and speed. That card is the source for every specification quoted in this section.
What the fleet panel gives you
Each aircraft is listed with a registration-style code such as AZ-002, a type name, a class label like 'turboprop · short range', the route it is assigned to, and its seats, range and speed. Service history and a flight counter sit underneath.
Those values are the only reliable way to answer 'can this aircraft fly that route'. The map does not show range, and the route card does not repeat it, so the fleet panel is where a route plan has to be checked.

Run an Airline Aircraft Guide: Seats, Range and Speed
Every aircraft card lists three numbers that decide what it can do: seats set the revenue ceiling, range sets the routes it can legally fly, and speed feeds the quoted block time. Only the ATR 42-600 has published values here because it is the only panel shown in the reviewed session.

Fleet size should follow filled routes, not the other way round. Add an aircraft when every existing route is already covered and a new destination inside range is waiting; buying first usually produces two half-empty cabins instead of one full one.
Reviewed 2026-10-18Buy a Bigger Aircraft or Add Another Route?
Add a route first when an existing aircraft has spare hours and the destination is inside range. Buy a bigger aircraft only when demand exceeds the current seats — otherwise the extra capacity lowers load factor and the flight earns less, not more.

Fleet questions
What do seats, range and speed mean?
Seats cap how many passengers one flight can carry, range caps how far the aircraft can fly a route, and speed feeds the quoted block time. Seats and load factor together produce the passenger count; range decides whether the route is legal at all.
Is the ATR 42-600 a good first aircraft?
It is the type whose panel is visible in the reviewed session: 48 seats, 1,300 km and 500 km/h. That suits short hub sectors. Whether it is the best first purchase depends on the aircraft list and prices in your own build, which are not published.
Does buying a bigger aircraft always earn more?
No. A larger aircraft only earns more when the route can fill the extra seats. If demand is already soft at 68% load, adding seats lowers the load factor and can turn a positive flight negative.
How do I know the price of an aircraft?
The fleet hint quotes the cash you still need, not the sticker price. Subtract that gap from your current balance only if the hint and your balance are from the same moment; otherwise open the fleet card and read the price directly.
